Fringe Benefits

Fringe is hot right now, during NYFW it was everywhere from bags to shoes to clothing.  Sometimes even worn all together which was bit to much “howdy on the ranch for my taste”.  Here are some of my favorite pieces I’ve worn and others I would love in my closet.

Nice is Nice

Nice is a big city and in the past few years it has continued to improve, especially in the shopping department. Here are some of my favorite places to shop and eat .

majeRue Alphonse Karr is filled with great boutiques. My FAVORITE is Maje, it’s French dressing at it’s best. This is always my first stop upon arrival.

sandroSandro is very similar to Maje (same company), another great stop on Alphonse Karr.

desertDesert (I think the name has now been changed to Poles) has a great selection of Isabel Marant. This is where I’ve found some coveted pieces (ie the Bekket sneaker).

Other noteworthy store: If you’re looking for unique eyewear Marc le Bihan on Rue Alphonse Karr carries a great selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses.

louisOk, moving on to some high end shopping on rue de Paradis off Zones Pietonnes. This street has Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Sonia Rykiel, Armani, and some other great boutiques.

chanelHi Chanel. Love you!villadesteHave lunch here at La Villa d’Este, great antipasti located on the main street 6 rue Massena.

liberteMy favorite cafe for some “pause shopping” is Liber’tea 9 bis, Rue de la Liberte

mondeCross Place Massena into Vieux Nice and shop at Un monde à part… (12 Rue Alexandre Mari) for great selection of Azzedine Alaia, Alexander McQueen, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Great service too!

Get Punk’d

The Met Gala’s theme this year is Punk: Chaos to Couture. I for one am super excited to rock this look . I use to put safety pins all over my clothes and wear shredded jeans in the 80s, so it brings back good memories. This destroyed Chanel tweet ensemble is the chic punk chicks ultimate look!
